With just two days until Halloween night Finbar Hoban Presents will yet again be bringing you one of the best and largest Halloween fancy dress parties in Castlebar which will take place at the Garbo’s venue in Castlebar on October 31.
This year's fancy dress ball will celebrate the year Marty Mcfly (Michael J Fox ) from the Back to the Future series travelled through time to October 2015 in the Back to the Future part 2 movie. To celebrate this occasion this year’s fancy dress ball at Garbo’s will have a Back to the Future theme although fancy dress is completely optional but members of the public are encouraged to dress up as their favourite character from the Back to the Future franchise.
With lots of prizes for the best dressed, there will be live music from three fantastic bands, Shardborne, Electric Taurus, and local band The Flaming Mongrels. In terms of style, Shardborne draw from a wide range of metal, prog rock and various other influences. Their mix of guitar driven melodies and complex musical structures lead to an exciting and unique sound, the twin guitar players melding lines together with interwoven bass grooves and creative technical drum beats as the band collectively skip from one timing to another and from genre to genre.
Also expect to see Dublin’s Electric Taurus. The band are a strong blend of '70s heavy blues with Doom and Stoner influences. Kicking off the night’s proceedings will be local act The Flaming Mongrels.
