An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, stopped by Newline in Castlebar on Monday morning to see the work that has begun on widening the street. Commenting on the works, An Taoiseach said: "As far back as I can remember Newline has been a bottleneck for the town of Castlebar.
"It is great to finally see work under way. I want to take this opportunity to thank the residents along the route who have worked with the council on making this happen. It is good news for Castlebar and the council have done very good work progressing the project to this point."
