The Castlebar-based Breadski Brothers will feature on the popular RTE Nationwide programme this Monday, next October 5, as part of National Bread Week. RTE’s Western Correspondent Pat McGrath and a camera crew spent a day last week filming at the busy bakery.
It’s been a busy few weeks for The Breadski Brothers as they are still celebrating their first award for - The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries from their ‘That Bread' range. It was announced as Best Speciality Bread in the Irish Quality Food Awards in the Mansion House Dublin last night. The three brothers, Magic, Martin and Mark, were there in person to receive their award. The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries has also been nominated for the Blás na hÉireann national food awards which will be announced this Saturday, October 3.
The Breadski Brothers are three genuine brothers - Magic, Mark and Martin - who moved to Ireland from Poland a decade ago. They quickly established themselves as successful bakers for the Polish market in Ireland, supplying over 250 stores countrywide, and recently decided to launch a range for Irish taste buds. That Bread was launched earlier this year by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD.
Three breads comprise That Bread: 'The White One with the Sunny Sesame Seeds', 'The Brown One with the Toasted Pumpkin Seeds' and 'The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries'. Each is available in a 400g sliced pan packed on a card tray, with a re-sealable clip and a quirky Breaducation leaflet with interesting facts about bread. They are available in SuperValus and other stores countrywide.
