Gardai are preparing a file for the DPP after a 54-year-old man was stabbed several times in his upper body in the early hours of Monday morning outside his home in Ballina.
The incident occured shortly after 4am in Tom Clarke Place in the town and resulted in the injured man having to be be brought to Mayo General Hospital. Gardai sealed off the scene of the attack for a technical examination following the attack. On Monday morning, Gardai arrested a man in his 20s in relation to the incident which shocked locals and held him for questioning before releasing him without charge later in the week. The Gardai are preparing a file for the DPP in relation to the attack.
