St Gerald's College student David Glynn was celebrating on Wednesday when it emerged he was Ireland's top Leaving Cert student, scoring an amazing nine A1s in his Leaving Cert exams.
David from Maryland, Castlebar, scored A1s in Irish, English, maths, physics, music, French, chemistry, applied maths, and Japanese, which he took up, studying by himself, last year. He got a total of 625 CAO points, with six subjects being counted with 100 points awarded for each A1 and 25 bonus points being awards for hounors maths. David will go on to study maths in third level this autumn.
