Charlestown Athletic v Ballina Town
Saturday August 15 at 6.30pm
It has not been a great few weeks for Ballina Town, last Thursday they were held to a 0-0 draw by Ballyheane, and then on Sunday they were dumped out of the cup by lower division opposition when Claremorris saw them off 3-2 in Concannon Park. The Belleek Park outfit will have to get back to winning way when they head to east Mayo on Saturday night against a Charlestown Athletic side which is sitting in the relegation places.
Verdict: Ballina Town
Castlebar Celtic v Ballyheane
Saturday August 15 at 6.30pm
What a difference a few weeks make, not that long ago Celtic looked to be heading for a midtable finish, but Damien Burke's men have really found their groove of late. They saw off Straide and Foxford United 6-0 last Thursday night, and then had a comfortable 2-0 over Ballyglass in the cup on Sunday. Local pride will be at stake on Saturday night, Ballyheane are no slouches and a win would see them move to within a point of their hosts.
Verdict: Draw
Conn Rangers v Straide and Foxford United
Saturday August 15 at 6.30pm
Not that long ago, this looked like it would be a battle for pride among the bottom two, but Conn Rangers are in good form at the minute, they have won their last two league games. While they were dumped out of the cup by Manulla last weekend their main focus is on making sure they stay up in the division. For Straide and Foxford United this has been a season to forget. Celtic put six past them last time out in the league and it looks like only a matter of time before their relegation is confirmed.
Verdict: Conn Rangers
Manulla v Westport United
Sunday August 16 at 12pm
This game should be a real interesting affair, Manulla have been doing pretty well this season and were flirting with the top places in the table a few weeks ago. Westport United look to be hitting form at the right time, they have got over their shaky start and are now four points clear at the top. Last weekend they were pushed all the way by Iorras Aontaithe in the cup, but still had enough to come through when under pressure.
Verdict: Westport United
Iorras Aontiathe v Ballyglass
Sunday August 16 at 2.30pm
The strong form they showed in the opening months of the season seems to have deserted Ballyglass of late, they were comfortably beaten by Castlebar Celtic last Sunday in the cup at home and now face into a long trek to Erris this Sunday. Iorras have got over some early season blips to position themselves comfortably in mid table and a win would see them push further up the table to within touching distance of their guests.
Verdict: Draw
