Top folk and trad, mesmerising theatre and Quebecois dance

A sneak peek at the Linenhall's autumn schedule

The first exciting flickers of the Linenhall Arts Centre’s autumn programme are appearing on the horizon and it looks like there will be another hugely diverse and appetizing menu of live music and theatre performances to enjoy in Castlebar come September.

Some of the performances already announced include the Alan Kelly Gang, together with mesmerising ex-Fairground Attraction songstress Eddi Reader, for a rousing night of top folk and trad music on September 1, and Declan Gorman’s highly acclaimed one-man show The Dubliners Dilemma.

The Dubliner's Dilemma is based on the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses, and has been announced, for September 3 at 8pm.

For something completely different, Montreal-based dance group, Zogma, is bringing a blend of Quebecois and Irish music and dance to Castlebar with their show called Sokalo, on September 9 at 8pm.

A little later in the month, Irish and Scottish trad trailblazers Kathleen MacInnes, Dermot Byrne, Brian Finnegan, and Mike Vass perform on September 14 at 8pm.

Children's theatre company Beezneez is also back with its new comedy Turning Mammy on September 15 at 8pm, followed by a performance from the hugely talented classical guitarist and composer Pat Coldrick on September 24.

More autumn events are yet to be announced.
