Live at the Marquee Killala in memory of Sean Hannick

Following on from the success of last year's Live at the Marquee Killala event, the big top style festival is making a highly anticipated return to the town this year from August 1 to 9.

The driving force behind last year's special 50th anniversary festival was community stalwart Sean Hannick, who sadly passed away earlier this year.

The festival committee is pulling out all of the stops in his memory to ensure this year's event is even more successful.

The Outlaws will open the festival on Saturday August 1 and Gorilla Radio will be the closing act on August 9.

In between, there are plenty of entertaining acts from Declan Nerney to Deuces Wild and Mick Flavin.

Matt Cunningham returns for a ceili night and the highlight of the week will be the Strictly Irish Dancing, which was such a resounding success last year.

In addition to the music and dancing, there are plenty of fun family events for all ages, including a children’s fun day, bubble football, monster bingo, car treasure hunt, busking competition, whacky street traders race, Giro de Baile cycle race and lots more.

Last year’s festival raised much needed funds for cancer research. This year, the proceeds are going towards the Foxford Daycare Centre (Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland ) and local community and youth projects.
