A newly graduated Mayo garda was awarded with the Commissioner’s Medal at the graduation ceremony in the Garda College, Templemore yesterday (Thursday ).
Garda John Horkan from Swinford received the award for being the student who achieved the highest aggregate marks in academic subjects at a ceremony which was attended by Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform Dermot Ahern TD, who presented certificates to 286 gardaí. Garda Horkan will be stationed at Athlone Garda Station.
