The Connacht Property Auction organisers say they have noted a sharp increase in enquiries from buyers over the past few weeks ahead of their auction next week.
The auction will offer 25 properties for sale across the province in Galway, Mayo, Leitrim, Sligo, Roscommon and also in Clare.
Claire Moran from The Connacht Property Auction noted there has been a 40 per cent increase in enquiry levels in May versus April and said one of the reason for this is an influx of buyers from elsewhere in Ireland and also the UK.
"In addition to dealing with local buyers, we have seen a large number of buyers from around Ireland and also further afield with particular interest from the UK," she said. "Some are expats from the area looking to return home while others are not originally from the west of Ireland but are looking to buy here for retirement, work or holiday home purposes."
After the success of the previous two auctions which sold 88 per cent and 92 per cent respectively, the auction group is expecting the vast majority of properties to be sold next Thursday, June 25 in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway.
The company is also taking entries for the online auctions and upcoming public auctions and Ms Moran went on to say: “With the high demand we are currently experiencing, now is a great time market properties for anyone considering selling as we have thousands of registered applicants looking to buyer. The company do not charge any upfront costs into the auction and take on board all marketing and entry fees – so the property owner has no costs unless the property is successfully sold."
