Tickets have just gone on sale for this year's Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival events.
The festival, which is now in its ninth year and is one of the top boutique roots music festivals in the country, takes place from June 12 to 14.
Selected by The Irish Times as one of Ireland's top 20 summer festivals in 2014, the festival has become a major draw for fans of roots music, featuring traditional, bluegrass, newgrass, old-time, Cajun, blues and folk.
Artists travel to Westport from America, the UK, Europe and all over Ireland for the three-day showcasing of plucking, picking, strumming and sliding.
As well as lots of free gigs, music sessions, workshops, and masterclasses, there are three ticketed showcase concerts over the weekend - one on each night of the festival - and tickets for these concerts are on sale now.
The concert on Friday June 12 is themed 'Women Across the Water' and will feature world renowned fiddle player Rayna Gellert from the USA, The Henry Girls from Ireland, Anna Falkenau from Germany, and Lena Ullman from Sweden.
On Saturday June 13, a concert called 'The Next Generation' features the group Flat & Sharps from the UK and Irish bands JigJam and The New Breadwinners.
The final show of the festival, on Sunday June 14, will feature the members of the Clew Bay Folk Club and Ger Wolfe.
Tickets and further details on all three shows are available now from www.westportfolkandbluegrass.com
