The popular traditional music and dance show, The Legend of Gráinne Mhaol, lifted anchor this week and sailed into its seventh summer season and a new home - at the newly renovated Westport Town Hall.
The show, which has entertained thousands of visitors to Westport since 2009, tells the real-life story of legendary 'pirate queen' Grace O'Malley, through the medium of traditional Irish music.
It will run every Sunday and Wednesday night from June 17 at Westport Town Hall.
Minister of State for Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring, was in the town hall last week to officially launch the new season and he described the show as a "must see for anyone visiting Mayo or the west of Ireland this summer".
The show features a host of top class performers including James Kilbane, Pollyanna Guedes, Darragh Healy, Liam Scanlon, Roisin Timoney and Monica Brennan and has received many glowing reviews.
Tripadvisor called it 'one of the best in Ireland' while The Irish Times described the show as 'a magical production that everyone will enjoy'.
