There is a treat in store for fans of choral music at the Ballina Arts Centre later this month.
The Ballina Chamber Choir will perform one of its popular concerts on Friday May 22 at 8.30pm and there is a double serving of on song harmonies on the cards as the choir will be joined by the highly distinguished English Concert Singers.
The English Concert Singers has a varied repertoire and is the basis of the English Concert Chorus, which has performed previously with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in The Royal Albert Hall, London.
Both choirs will be competing in the Mayo International Choral Festival on May 23.
Directed by Niamh O’Kelly, the 20 member strong Ballina Chamber Choir has won a special place in the heart of the Ballina community with its polished performances and eclectic repertoire of classical and sacred pieces.
