Divas & Studs Hair and Makeup Studio at The Square Claremorris is delighted to be celebrating 10 years in business, next Wednesday (May 6 ).
The salon was opened in 2005 by hair stylist Yvonne McNabb when she was just 21 years old, and has over the intervening decade become firmly established as one of the leading hair and make-up studios in Mayo.
Ms McNabb said this week that she is thrilled to be marking such an important milestone for her business, particularly as she started Divas & Studs out of a genuine passion for the industry.
“I always had a natural talent and love of hair and make-up,” she said. “It was a big move to open my own business at such a young age but thankfully I have never looked back.
“I just want to thank all of our clientele for 10 wonderful years. It is because of their support and loyalty over the years that Divas & Studs has been so successful.
“It has been a turbulent 10 years, taking in the boom and the recession but throughout all of that, we kept our business ethos very simple.
“We just wanted to provide a great service, and make sure that everyone who came to the salon was happy with the service and, of course most importantly, the result.
“I found that making sure our prices stayed affordable was very important.
“This has worked for us because we have always been busy and got great feedback from the most important people in our business - our customers.”
Ms McNabb introduced the make-up studio and tanning services to the salon a few years ago, making it a one-stop-shop for clients to get ready for their important occasions.
Spray tans available now include Vita Liberate and White to Brown.
Make-up brands used in the salon include such leading industry names as Benefit, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Channel, Inglot and many more top names.
To celebrate 10 years in business, Divas & Studs is holding a hair and make-up evening on Wednesday May 6 from 7 to 10pm. The evening will include make-up deomonstrations and do-it-yourself hair lessons.
“It promises to be a great girly evening with raffles, goody bags, champagne and nibbles,” said Ms McNabb.
Tickets for the event are €10 and can be redeemed against an appointment or a product on the night.

“We have the right balance of natural talent, know-how, and professionalism to provide a one-stop-shop with the high level of service that has kept us in business for 10 years.”
