Clare Island is to welcome an influx of adventurous mainlanders to its shores tomorrow (Saturday May 2 ) for the third annual Clare Island Adventure Race, which starts at 1pm.
Registration for the race opens at 11.30am on the island tomorrow morning and the organisers are encouraging all adventure racing fans to join them for the event.
Racers can also pre-register online at www.clareislandadventures.ie
This year’s race coincides with the international Mayo Day celebrations so participants can expect some extra colour and atmosphere on the day.

The shorter ‘Spirit’ route involves a 5k run, 9.5k cycle, and a beach obstacle course.
The full race entry is €45 or €35 for the Spirit route. This includes the ferry fare if you pre-register today (Friday May 1 ).
The Go Explore Hostel is also officially open for the season and there will be an event after-party at Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant.
