One of Ireland’s biggest country singing sensations, Nathan Carter, makes a welcome return to the Royal Theatre, Castlebar, for a music weekend that will have country fans up on their feet for three full days in the county town. The big weekend event starts on Friday and continues through Saturday and Sunday, May 8, 9, and 10.
The weekend opens on Friday (May 8 ) with Nathan Carter and band in concert with special guests Louise Morrissey and the ever-popular Brendan Quinn. Saturday evening (May 9 ) is another huge night of country music, with four hours of dancing, featuring Gerry Guthrie and his band from 9pm, followed by Nathan Carter and band. Admission is €20, payable at the door on the night. On Sunday (May 10 ), the Royal Theatre hosts a family afternoon dance, featuring Nathan with special guest Hugo Duncan and friends. Admission is €15, and children under 10 go free. There will be dancing from 3pm. Nathan has had a great career to date, with two number one albums, and numerous TV appearances, including the Late Late Show, BBC’s Stephen Nolan Show, and TV3’s Ireland AM.
Super show
He is a regular favourite on Sky Channel 191 country shows. Fans travelling to see Nathan in concert can be assured of a super show from the man seen by many as the singer who triggered a massive revival in the popularity of country music and dancing. He has brought an entire new generation to the genre, and a Nathan show is more than just a singer and his band - it is an event and an experience that more than 400,000 people were part of in 2014. This year is already looking like another major success for Carter, with sell out shows and a record deal with Decca confirmed. The Decca deal will see a new album released throughout the UK, Ireland, Australia, and America in 2015. Expect to hear many of the hits and some new songs over Nathan’s Royal Theatre weekend, which is one not-to-be missed event, both for loyal country music fans and newcomers who have not yet experienced Nathan’s live shows.
