Included in those was the late John Durcan, who was a brother of Cllr Frank Durcan. Cllr Cyril Burke said: “He was a great business man and was highly respected in the town and involved in many areas of the community and will be missed.”

There were also tributes paid to the late Joe Mullaney, Prizon, Balla, who died on Saturday evening last following a single vehicle crash on the N5 at Knockanour on the Castlebar to Bohola Road.

Cllr Burke said: “There are very fond memories of him around the area and that was evident by the amount of people at his home last night.”

Cllr Al McDonnell added: “He was a fine young man who will be greatly missed by all.”

Cllr Lisa Chambers also proposed a vote of sympathy to the family of the late Patsy Murphy who was the former county registrar.

Cllr Gerry Ginty while expressing his sympathy with the families of all the above mentioned deceased also expressed his sympathy to all the families of everyone who had passed away in the last month.
