The Irish Cancer Society is urgently seeking volunteer drivers in Mayo for its Care to Drive service.
Care to Drive recruits and trains volunteers to transport cancer patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments.
The Irish Cancer Society recently partnered with Mayo General Hospital to offer the Care to Drive service to local patients.
Volunteers collect patients at their homes and drive them to the door of the hospital. They then collect the patients when they are finished their treatment and bring them home.
The service is free to the patient and all drivers’ expenses are paid.
