Over the next six months, the Mayo Advertiser will publish weekly some of the best new fiction set in and around Mayo
Every week, we will bring you the best new short stories, penned by our readers and, at the end of the series, an overall winner will be selected by an independent panel of judges.
The winner of the competition will win an Apple iPad. The competition is restricted to over 18s only.
So, if you are a budding writer and would like to showcase your work to an audience of thousands of readers, get writing now and send your submissions to us.
Stories should not exceed 1,000 words in length and should not have been published elsewhere. All stories must have a sense of ‘Mayo-ness’ at their centre.
The stories can be set in contemporary Mayo, or make extensive reference to Mayo. They can be humorous, dramatic or poetic.
