Award-winning urban drama for Linenhall

A gripping drama set in Dublin’s post Celtic Tiger suburbia, which scooped the title of Best New Play at The Irish Times Theatre Awards, is coming to the Linenhall Arts Centre on Thursday, April 16.

The Games People Play, presented by Rise Productions, is a radical re-working of the Tír na nÓg myth.

Described by the Sunday Independent as a “genuinely accomplished and imaginative take on post-boom family destruction”, the play is an urban drama, telling the story of Niamh and Oisín, a couple who seem to have it all but who are actually facing a series of extremely tough decisions on the eve of their son’s seventh birthday.

A series of games escalates and threatens to unravel their suburban paradise.

The Games People Play, which was also a sell-out success at the Dublin Fringe Festival, is written by Gavin Kostick, directed by Bryan Burroughs, and performed by Lorna Quinn and Aonghus Óg McAnally.

The play starts at 8pm on Thursday April 16.
