Members of the public are being asked to support Daffodil Day in Mayo today (Friday, March 27 ).
Daffodil pins and fresh daffodils are on sale across the county today.
The public can also support by making a donation online at www.cancer.ie or be texting Daff to 50300 to donate €4.
The most recent figures available show that 1,018 people were diagnosed with cancer in Mayo in 2012.
The funds raised today fund the work of the cancer society providing support services, prevention, research and advocacy throughout Ireland.
