There is a treat in store for fans of Samuel Beckett’s avant garde literary genius at Ballina Arts Centre on April 9.
All A Dream is a monolgue drawn from the writings of Beckett, performed by Declan McGauran and directed by Will Irvine.
The monologue is a series of tailored excerpts from Beckett’s trilogy of novels, Molloy, Malone Dies and The Unnameable as well s the full text of the prose piece From An Abandoned Work.
There are also some shorter excerpts from other sources.
The piece presents the classical lugubrious Beckettian tramp in his ragged attire, trapped in a seeming netherworld awaiting the end of his existence as he makes an attempt to relate the story of three days of his life.
Tickets are available now, priced at €12 or €10 with concession. Booking is advised.
