The Connaught Inn located on Spencer Street Castlebar, have started work on creating an additional five bedrooms, including one which will be a specially accessible room for people with disabilities.
When this project is completed the Connaught Inn will then boast 13 en-suite bedrooms, along with a bar, restaurant and their courtyard garden.
The expansion project is being overseen by local architect, Noel Costello with local contractor Noel Noonan leading the build onsite. The Connaught Inn is owned and operated by Lee Walmsley and her partner Dennis. Lee said: “These are exciting times and we hope that the works will be completed very soon and will be available in good time for the summer season.”
