Maureen Mooney wins big on Million Euro Challenge

Maureen Mooney from Hollymount won €16,000 last Saturday night on the National Lottery’s, The Million Euro Challenge TV game show. Maureen is a familiar face behind the bar at John O’Hare’s pub in Ballinrobe, where she works part-time.

She is a daughter of the late Martin Mooney and Doreen who ran Mooney’s pub in Ballinrobe from 1987 for 24 years. Maureen bought her lucky Scratch Card in Martin Murphy’s newsagents in Ballinrobe. Her mother Doreen, who watches The Million Euro Challenge every week, joined her daughter on the show as her support. Maureen has two brothers and a sister. One of her brothers lives in Ireland, her brother JJ lives in Australia, and sister Pauline lives in France. In her spare time Maureen enjoys aqua aerobics and walking her dog Bruiser. Maureen would like to use her Million Euro Challenge winnings to visit her brother JJ in Australia, who has lived there for 15 years, and change her car.

The Million Euro Challenge scratch cards are on sale at National Lottery agent shops and offer players the chance to win instant prizes of up to €50,000. Three players will be selected each week to appear on The Million Euro Challenge TV game show and one lucky player has the chance to win up to €1 million instantly.
