For a blast of live music to brighten up the weekend, it is well worth going along to see the WhistleBlast Quartet, who are performing a free, family concert in Mulranny Church at 6pm this evening (Friday March 20 ).
The quartet features talented musicians, Ken Edge, Mary Curran, Síle Daly and Conor Linehan.
They play a range of music from Gershwin to Stravinksy to Offenbach. The quartet’s aim is to make live classical music more accessible.
Children from Mulranny National School, who have been working with the quartet to learn all about music and performing, will take to the stage on the evening as well for the grand finale.
The WhistleBlast Quartet is funded by The Arts Council, the National Concert Hall Education Programme, Mayo County Council and Blackshell Farm Limited.
