Mayo Centra stores clean up at Quality Awards

Eight local Centra stores, Roche’s Centra Balla, Cuffe’s Centra Belmullet, Walsh’s Centra Kilmaine, Hennigan’s Centra Ballindine, Sheridan’s Centra Newport, Casey’s Centra Castlebar, Casey’s Centra Ballina, and Campbell’s Centra Killala, scooped the much coveted Excellence Ireland Supreme National Hygiene Award recently.

The awards were presented by Martin Kelleher, managing director of Centra, and Irene Collins, managing director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association, at the 2015 Centra Quality Awards held in Killarney. The accolade identifies and rewards retailers who have maintained the highest standards of food safety, quality, and hygiene in their stores over a three year period.

A further eight Mayo stores, Murphy’s Centra Ballinrobe, Raftery’s Centra Claremorris, Hoban’s Centra The Quay Westport, O’Hara’s Centra Foxford, Mitchell’s Centra Moygownagh, Hoban’s Centra Westport, Munnelly’s Centra Crossmolina, and Higgins and Keegan Centra Kilkelly, were also presented with the Excellence Ireland National Hygiene and Food Safety Certificate, which is an independent verification of the highest standards of operational hygiene and food safety in the food sector business.
