Three baking brothers who are busy growing a bread empire from their Castlebar bakery welcomed An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to their premises last Friday for the launch of their latest new product range.
The new That Bread range from the enterprising businessmen, who have dubbed themselves the ‘Breadski Brothers’, is already available on local supermarket shelves and is soon to be available in shops nationwide.
The brothers say they will create 10 new jobs through the product launch.
Mr Kenny performed the official launch at the MMM Bakery in the Breaffy Retail Park and offered his congratulations to the brothers.
The new product range is called That Bread and includes three new breads, packaged and marketed in eye-catching contemporary branding.
The Breadski Brothers are Magic, Mark, and Martin Chlebicki.
They are originally from Poland but set up the MMM Family Bakery in Castlebar in 2006.
They now employ 39 people and supply a range of more than 50 bread, pastry and cake products to more than 200 stores nationwide, mainly catering to the Polish market.
That Bread, described as ‘bread with attitude’, is their first product range specially tailored for the Irish market.
New jobs
The brothers expect to create 10 new jobs in the next 12 months through the new product range launch. Four new employees have already been recruited.
The three products are The White One with the Sunny Sesame Seeds; The Brown One with the Toasted Pumpkin Seeds; and The Rye One with the Fresh Cranberries.
The bread is “nutritious, looks good, wholesome, and tastes great”, according to company CEO Magic Chlebicki.
“We are very proud of That Bread. These are the first breads we have specifically created for the mainstream Irish palate and we are confident that they will be well received.”
Mr Chlebicki said the products were developed using painstakingly detailed research and taste testing.
“That Bread from The Breadski Brothers is probably the smartest bread to date,” he explained.
“The taste, packaging, and brand were all created with meticulous details. We listened to feedback and suggestions from over 1,500 people and we like to think of it as ‘Smart Bread’, from the inside out.
“We have been in the baking business a long time and we know how to bake delicious and nutritious bread that families will love.”
Speaking at the launch, Mr Kenny said the MMM Family Bakery is a “fantastic example of local innovation and job creation.”
“Over the last number of years they have worked hard to become a significant local employer and play their part in Ireland’s recovery. Congratulations to the brothers on their new venture.”
Authentic
Each of the new breads is available in a 400g sliced pan, packed on a card tray, with a re-sealable clip. There is also a handy two-slice pack.
Each pack has a quirky ‘Breaducation’ leaflet with interesting facts about bread.
“We are passionate about baking and committed to 'Breaducation', spreading an authentic and responsible baking message to the world,” added Magic.
“Part of our commitment is to make a sales-based donation to the Mary's Meals charity, which sets up school feeding programmes in poverty stricken communities.”
That Bread is available from nine SuperValu stores across Mayo and Roscommon; in Westport, Castlebar, Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Kiltimagh, Ballyhaunis, Ballina, Achill, and Ballaghadereen.
