Renowned pianist MacGregor for Linenhall recital

World-renowned pianist Joanna MacGregor is stopping off in Castlebar as part of her upcoming nationwide tour.

Described as a “musical phenomenon”, Ms MacGregor is to perform in the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, on March 23 at 8pm.

A renowned concert pianist, MacGregor is also a highly-respected composer, curator, conductor, and teacher.

She has built a formidable reputation as one of the world’s most innovative musicians.

A veteran of more than 30 solo recordings, she has collaborated with an array of artists, including Django Bates, Moses Molelekwa, Andy Sheppard, Brian Eno and Nitin Sawhney, as well as performing with eminent conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle, and Michael Tilson Thomas.

The Independent described MacGregor as “one of contemporary music’s great individualists, a uniquely enlivening presence who slices her way through all the barriers she sees as false and limiting”.
