A group exhibition at the Sea, Sky Shore Gallery, James Street, Westport, featuring work made by the following artists at Custom House Studios during 2008; Cecilia Bullo, Breda Burns, Nick Devaney, Pam Gray, Christina Heraty, Niall McCormack, Sinead Wall, Ian Wieczorek, and Katja Wittmer will be opened by Councillor Margaret Adams, chairperson of Custom House Studios, on Thursday January 29 at 6pm. The exhibition will continue until February 28.
A poetry reading by John F Deane and Sean Lysaght will take place at the Creel Restaurant, Westport Quay on Thursday February 19 at 8pm.
The Custom House Studios is now inviting submissions for exhibitions and use of studio space for 2009 and 2010. Custom House Studios is currently constructing an extension and renovations — set to reopen March 2009. The studios complex houses seven artists’ studios, gallery, and a print studio. These facilities are housed in a historic restored Customs House building on the Quay in Westport, on a prominent redeveloped waterfront street.
Artists are invited to submit proposals for short, long term, and for exhibitions at Customs House.
