Cosgallen CDP is recruiting for new voluntary management committee members. If you are interested contact the CDP office on 094 925 5070 and an open information night will be arranged.
Adult education classes
Cosgallen CDP adult education spring classes will start shortly in English for foreign nationals, farm accounts, creative writing, computers, and cookery. The adult education classes run for 16 hours, two hours per night, one night a week for eight weeks. The course is part funded by the VEC.
Local employment service
Are you currently unemployed? If so, the Local Employment Service will hold an outreach in Cosgallen CDP, Charlestown, on Wednesday February 4 from 10am to 12pm.
Literacy tutors needed
Volunteer literacy tutors are needed to provide one-to-one tuition. An adult literacy awareness event for volunteers and learners will be held on February 3 from 2pm to 4pm at the Further Education Centre (Friary ) Ballyhaunis. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, contact Noelle Staunton on 094 925 1928 or 087 910 2374.
An adult learners fair will be held in the McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, on February 6 from 3.30pm to 5pm. This is an opportunity for prospective learners to become aware of the education services being provided by Mayo VEC and how it may benefit them.
Citizens Information Centre
Mayo citizens information service will hold an outreach on Wednesday January 28 at the Cosgallen office, Enterprise Centre, Airport Road, Charlestown, from 9.45am to 11.30am.
No Name Club for Swinford
The new No Name Club which is being set up in Swinford has selected its committee. The club would like to thank Councillor Joe Mellett for his dedication and hard work in setting up this club and also to Con Nolan, development officer with the No Name Club, for his advice and assistance.
