Céide Fields funding

There was a boost for the Céide Fields last Friday with the announcement that €100,000 is to be spent upgrading the visual displays at the historic site.

The Céide Fields, which is a key attraction on the Wild Atlantic Way, is one of Ireland’s most important archaeological sites as it the oldest known field system in the world.

Announcing the funding, which will enhance the visitor experience at the Céide Fields centre, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the site offers an “unrivaled glimpse into the history of Ireland and it is a hugely important location along the Wild Atlantic Way”.

“I encourage anybody who hasn't visited the Céide Fields to take advantage of this wonderful facility,” added the Taoiseach.
