Songbird Denise Morgan for Clifden performance

Mancunian songbird Denise Morgan will be performing at the Station House Hotel in Clifden on Saturday February 14, at 9.30pm. Guests and visitors to the hotel during this St Valentine’s weekend will enjoy a night filled with original love songs and a selection of stunning covers from the talented songwriter, who is currently appearing on series 4 of RTÉ One’s The Voice of Ireland.

Although hailing from Manchester, Denise’s Irish roots are clearly evident in her style of music, which has been poetically described as ‘Celtic soul’.

With a mother from Clifden and father from Monaghan, it is not surprising that Denise was heavily influenced by the abundance of live Irish music she enjoyed while visiting family in Ireland.

The beauty and artistic appeal of Clifden soon enticed Denise to stay, and after graduating from Salford University, she moved to the idyllic seaside town, often debuting her latest songs in the local bar alongside resident musicians.

The experienced singer and songwriter has gigged throughout Europe for many years and has dabbled in various styles of music including folk, R ‘n’ B, and drum and bass, co-writing and performing tracks for the Bristol-based duo Smith & Mighty.

Denise is no stranger to television, having appeared on the first series of The Voice UK, when she was chosen by the legendary Sir Tom Jones to be part of his team.

The flame-haired songstress is now appearing on the Voice of Ireland after all four coaches turned their chairs after hearing her self-penned love song, ‘If you Love Me Say You Love Me’.

Now through to the battle rounds of the popular show, Denise is a firm favourite to make it through to the live shows.
