Members of the newly formed Parke Musical Society are extremely busy with the last few rehearsals, ahead of their upcoming production of the firm family favourite show, Annie.
Annie comes to the stage at Parke Community Hall at 8.30pm on Friday and Saturday February 6 and 7, with a matinee performance on Sunday at 2.30pm.
A cast and crew of some 70 have been toiling hard since September to have the show ready for the big opening night and now, the timeless story of an orphan on the search for her parents, is sure to warm the hearts of audience members and shake off any winter blues.
The producers of the show are Breda Morris and Kate Boyle while musical direction is provided by Rebecca Cresham. Ronan Lardiner is directing.
“It has been a dream of the producers for a long number of years to start a musical society in Parke,” said Ms Boyle.
“The fact that it is now a reality has been helped in no small way by the dedicated committee of Parke Community Hall, with the support of South West Mayo Development Company Ltd, who undertook a major refurbishment project on the hall in 2014, enabling us to have this wonderful venue on our doorstep to rehearse in and a permanent stage for performing.”
Audiences at the show will be able to enjoy such memorable hits as ‘Tomorrow’, ‘It’s the Hard Knock Life’, ‘Little Girls’, ‘A New Deal for Christmas’ and much more.
Tickets for the show are available from (085 ) 114 3499. To be in with a chance to win some tickets to the show, find and like Parke Musical Society on Facebook.
