Pharmacy group Lloyds, which has two branches in Mayo, in Westport and Claremorris, has launched a new, free, eight-week healthy living programme.
Lloyds said the programme aims to support its customers towards their healthy living ambitions in 2015.
The programme, called Change Your Health Direction, will see customers invited to avail of a healthy diet plan or a quit smoking plan.
Both services start with an initial consultation with a local Lloyds Pharmacy health expert, who will assess each individual, and carry out a body mass index check and blood pressure measuring.
The health expert will then advise on the best approach based on the customer’s health requirements.
Customers will also be offered a dietary plan and food diary or a smoking control diary, with tips on how to implement the plan in their daily lives.
Customers will be invited to check in regularly with their health expert at Lloyds and their progress will be tracked over an eight-week period.
At the end of the eight weeks, the customers will receive a full report on their progress and recommended next steps to further sustain their healthy lifestyle.
Speaking at the campaign launch, managing director, Goretti Brady, said the pharmacy group is delighted to introduce the initiative to all its stores this January. “Customer health and wellbeing is at the core of everything we do at Lloyds Pharmacy,” she said.
