Two of the most famous names in world snooker are Belmullet bound.
Former world champions Ken Doherty and Steve Davis are chalking up for an exhibition game in the Belmullet arts centre - Áras Inis Gluaire - on Thursday next (January 22 ).
But anyone who does not have tickets yet is snookered, as fans of the game snapped up the tickets as soon as they went on sale before Christmas and the event is completely sold out.
Arlene Gaynor, who manages the marketing and PR at Aras Inis Gluaire, said it is one of the fastest selling events she has ever seen at the arts centre.
“It is a great opportunity to see these two big names right here on our doorstep so the tickets flew out the door. We could have sold it out three times over,” said Ms Gaynor.
The event will see the top snooker men play an exhibition game before some lucky members of the audience will get the chance to go cue-to-cue with Davis and Doherty.
