Citroen’s award winning Grand C4 Picasso topped the MPV sales charts as Ireland’s top selling seven-seater family car in 2014.
The new Citroen C4 Picasso is a real market success across Europe, claiming the No 1 spot in this Irish and European MPV segment.
Irish drivers are demonstrating a clear preference in body styles with the seven-seater Grand C4 Picasso representing two-thirds of demand, with 348 sales, compared to 170 sales for the five-seater C4 Picasso version.
The new C4 Picasso is building on its many strong points to out-perform the competition. With Citroen’s unbeatable zero per cent 'Elect 3' PCP finance, the stylish and spacious Grand C4 Picasso is available from €249 per month, with a retail price starting from €27,045. With best in class interior space, it delivers 632 litres of boot space as well as generous leg room, storage pocket and discreet spaces under the seats and in the floor.
All this with optimised running costs: the vehicle is lighter (-140kg compared with the previous generation ) and fitted with efficient new-generation engines to cut both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions (best in class: from 3.7 l/100km and 96g of CO2/km for the BlueHDi 120 engine with the six-speed manual gearbox - Euro 6 ).
The Grand C4 Picasso is also packed with convenient and innovative technologies including the dual display screens, offering a stylish and smart way of keeping users connected and in control, so it is little wonder it is Ireland’s most popular seven-seater.
Frédéric Soulier, managing director of Citroen Motors Ireland, said: “I understand families are looking at their monthly costs when considering changing their car. I would advise Irish motorists to take account the additional monthly running costs of an older model and the current zero per cent PCP finance offer on the Citroen range – it may be more affordable than you think to upgrade to a ‘151’ Citroen.”
Linda Jackson, CEO of Citroen, said: “One year after launch, the new C4 Picasso is building excellent market momentum. This performance reflects the warm welcome it received in the press right from the start, and the many awards it has picked up, including Germany’s prestigious Golden Steering Wheel. This new C4 Picasso embodies the best in MPV design, and the best brand expertise in design, comfort and technology, with optimised running costs. So it is completely in line with the expectations of customers today, as illustrated by its leadership in Europe.”
The new Citroen C4 Picasso reflects yet another new take on the MPV concept, to continue the bold approach initiated by its predecessors and open a new page in the success story of Citroen MPVs with the ‘Picasso’ signature (Xsara Picasso, C4 Picasso, C3 Picasso ), sold in more than 3.3 million examples to date. A figure that illustrates in itself the know-how and credibility of Citroen on this market.
