Fifth placed Castlebar Celtic are back in action in the Continental Tyres Women’s National League tomorrow evening when they welcome local rivals Galway WFC to Celtic Park in round 14 of the league.
Celtic’s last outing in the competition was away to Cork City Womens FC in mid-January when they came home from the Rebel County with a 3-0 win in their back pocket thanks to goals from Aoife Herbert, Emma Hansberry, and Katie Melly. Celtic are unbeaten in their last three league games having picked up draws away to UCD Waves and Peamount United in their two games before their victory over Cork City.
Celtic and Galway WFC have already met in Eamonn Deacy Park in the league this season in round seven, with Celtic going home with the points thanks to a 4-3 win, Rachel Kearns, Emma Hansberry, and a brace from Aoife Herbert securing the win for the Hoops. With seven rounds of action left in the league for Celtic, they currently sit in fifth place in the table, thanks to their three wins and two draws. They are four points ahead of their opponents on Saturday evening and just one point behind Peamount United in the league.
Kick-off in Celtic Park tomorrow evening is at 7pm. In a week where Stephanie Roche’s goal for Peamount United in last season’s league finished second in the Puskas award in the FIFA awards ceremony, why not check-out the quality of the league for yourself in Celtic Park.
