Young Mayo scientists at the RDS

Four schools in Mayo are being represented by some of their brightest students at the RDS in Dublin for the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, which opened today (Thursday ).

Young science boffins from Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Crossmolina, secured their place with their Safe Farm Code project, while a student from Mount St Michael in Claremorris is exhibiting a media and murder social and behavioural science project.

A team from St Muredach’s College, Ballina, is posing the question ‘why can’t we speak Irish?’.

The fourth team to qualify is from St Patrick’s College, Lacken Cross, with a technology project looking at improving the efficiency of a racing bike.
