The recently formed Swinford Men’s Shed is making quite an impression with its first completed project - a giant Christmas crib in the heart of the town.
Materials for the crib, which is opposite the Gateway Hotel on Main Street, were supplied by Swinford Tidy Towns, while Trease Hennigan was on paintbrush duties. John Darwell completed the figurines.
Swinford Men’s Shed is a coming together of men of different ages and social backgrounds to share life experiences, skills, and beliefs, in a positive and non-judgemental way for the betterment of themselves and society in general.
The Swinford Men’s Shed is the latest in a growing number of the clubs nationwide.
There are now more than 7,000 members in 220 Men’s Sheds across the whole island.
Donations of power tools, hand tools, or wood for construction projects to Swinford Men’s Shed would be greatly appreciated.
