Mayo properties snapped up at latest Allsop Auctions

Geesala Hotel among ten lots sold

Three apartments at Spencer Manor, Castlebar, a 31-bedroom hotel in Geesala, and a 4.5 acre parcel of land on the Newport Road at Carrabeag, Castlebar, were among the 10 Mayo properties snapped up at the latest Allsop Space Auctions in the RDS Dublin on December 9 and 11.

A Ballina lot, comprising a bar, retail unit, and two apartments at Brennan’s Lane, Tone Street, had been listed in the auction catalogue also but was sold prior to the auction for an undisclosed amount.

The apartments at Spencer Manor, sold in three separate lots, went for €112,500, €115,000, and €120,000 each.

The apartments were all two bedroom properties with off street parking.

In the commercial auction, a 31 bedroom hotel in Geesala, Ballina, fetched €287,500.

Abhainn Mhor Lodge comprises a reception, lounge, bar, restaurant, two function rooms, and parking for 60 cars.

Another Ballina lot listed in the auction cataloge, Brennan’s Lane, at Tone Street, comprising a pub, two apartments and a retail unit, was sold prior to the auction for an undisclosed amount.

Brennan’s Lane had been listed with a reserve of between €340,000 and €360,000.

In Foxford, two apartments at Cormullen, Foxford, were also sold in seperate lots for €72,000 and €72,500.

Two retail units on New Antrim Street, beside the Welcome Inn Hotel in Castlebar, also sold at the auction, again in two separate lots.

The first unit, which is currently let to Annette Gerald’s Boutique, sold for €80,000 and the second unit, currently let to Mayo Roscommon Hospice, sold for €90,000.

Also in Castlebar, a 4.5 acre parcel of land at Carrabeag, Newport Road, sold for €215,000.

A two storey, three bedroom, semi-detached house at Lakeview, Rathbawn, sold for €100,000.

The next Allsop Space Auction takes place on February 18 with the catalogue yet to published.
