Last Friday evening the Mayo community in Dublin met up at 10 Ormand Quay for the annual Muintir Mhaigh Eo Atha Cliath Christmas meet up. This year’s Muintir Mhaigh Eo Atha Cliath Christmas party was the largest ever festive gathering with many newcomers and recent migrants from Mayo joining the long time members of the association to mark the festive season.
Long-standing committee member Fr Gerry French opened the event with a mass which remembered the deceased members and friends of the association. Following Mass, everyone retired to the lavish ornamented lobby to enjoy a food and wine reception.
Food was provided by the Gourmet Parlour whose owners Lorraine Heskin and Lorraine Byrne parents hail from Mayo. A cabaret Jazz band provided a melodious backdrop as young and old mingled and socialised until late.
Newcomers signed up for lifelong membership of the association on the night.
For those of you who could not attend the Soiree but would like to have lifelong membership of the association you can do so by sending the membership fee of €25 to the Hon Secretary of the association - Mr Paul Sammin, 36 The Paddocks Square, Adamstown, Co. Dublin.
Muintir Mhaigh Eo Atha Cliath wishes to extend a warm thanks to everyone who attended the Christmas Soiree ensuring the association’s events in the capital continue to be well attended.
In addition, the association wishes to acknowledge the hard work of its social sub- committee who gave generously of their time to organising this successful event.
