On Sunday afternoon, the Mayo League Oscar Traynor Trophy team will go looking for their first win in this year’s competition when they host Clare in Milebush in the second round of the competition.
In the first round of the competition three weeks ago, the Mayo League looked to have been en route to a win thanks to a goal from Westport United’s David Cameron in Lecarrow, but Roscommon pulled the game level late on. Clare drew 2-2 with Galway in their opening game and were finalists last year in the competition where they lost to Dublin AUL. Westport United management duo, James Fahy and Kieran Mulchrone, are in charge of the Mayo League side again and will be hoping to bring their Westport United success with them on Sunday.
