Irish Water have given the go ahead for work to begin on the €3 million Breaffy Sewerage Scheme.
An Taoiseach Enda Kenny advised that, over the coming months, Mayo County Council in partnership with Irish Water will carry out the survey and design of the scheme and land acquisition and the planning process and will then move to tendering the mechanical and electrical elements of the work.
“The works will be carried out on a phased basis, commencing with Zone 1 in the first quarter of 2015, a major first step in terms of delivering an improved water supply for the people of the locality,” said Mr Kenny.
