Coroner’s inquests into Mayo murders to open before Christmas

The coroner for south Mayo, John O’Dwyer, will open coroner’s inquests into the deaths of four people murdered in Mayo last year.

On Friday November 21 he will open the inquest into the deaths of Eoin and Ruairi Chada who were murdered by their father Sanjeev Chada (44 ) of Ballinkillen, Bagenalstown, County Carlow. Sanjeev Chada pleaded guilty to the murder of his sons Eoin (10 ) and Ruairi (5 ) at Skehanagh Lower, Ballintubber, on July 29, 2013 at the Central Criminal Court earlier this month. Sanjeev Chada was sentenced to two life sentences for their murders.

On Monday December 15 the inquest will open into the death of Castlebar brothers Jack and Tom Blaine in their home on New Antrim Street, Castlebar on Wednesday July 10 2013. The case against the accused in that case, Alan Cawley of Four Winds, Corrimbla South, Ballina, in relation to the two men’s deaths has still to be fully heard by the Central Criminal Court.
