Efforts to locate missing Cong man Henry Byrne, who was last seen on September 29, came to a sad conclusion on Wednesday night.
Gardaí confirmed today that they recovered the body of the 30-year-old at an unoccupied house in Springfield.
Organisers of the Cong festival, which was scheduled for this weekend, announced they have now cancelled the event as a mark of respect.
Gardaí in Castlebar said they are investigating the matter and a post mortem examination will be carried out at Mayo General Hospital.
