Dolly Parton, songwriter, singer, larger than life personality, and country music legend, will be celebrated in Erris next weekend.
Singer-actress Heidi McCaffrey will present her show, Singing The Songs & Telling The Story of Dolly Parton to Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, on Friday, October 17, at 8 pm.
McCaffrey traces Parton’s life from her impoverished rural upbringing in Tennessee to her rise to fame as a member of Porter Wagoner’s band to her long, successful career as a solo artist and writer of such classic songs as ‘Jolene’, ‘Coat Of Many Colours’, ‘I Will Always Love You’, and ‘9 to 5’.
Heidi McCaffrey has appeared on Eastenders, Casualty, Holby City, and The Bill and released the solo album Come On In.

Jeannette Byrne will showcase the music and legacy of Piaf in her show called No Regrets, The Music of Edith Piaf 50 Years On.
