BreastCheck could save more lives

Extending the national breast cancer screening programme to include women aged between 65 and 69 would save the lives of five women in Mayo every year.

That is according to the Irish Cancer Society, which is calling on all Mayo TDs to support its campaign to have the BreastCheck screening programme extended to this age group.

BreastCheck currently invites women aged 50 to 64 to be screened every two years.
