Niamh O’Grady, of Bella beauty in Ballina, has been chosen as a finalist in the Mayo Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
The awards, run by the Local Enterprise Office, are searching for the county’s most promising young business people and the winner will progress to the regional and national finals in the hopes of being crowned Ireland’s best young entrepreneur.
Ms O’Grady recently enjoyed a ‘business boot camp’ in Delphi with the other 14 Mayo finalists and finalists from Galway and Roscommon.
They took part in workshops and presentations from fellow successful entrepreneurs and even enjoyed a Delphi fire challenge.
The trip supported the finalists to further hone their business skills ahead of the next stage of the competition, which will involve presenting their business plan and pitch submission.
The results of the Mayo competition will be announced on October 17.
“The support services that are there from the local LEO office are amazing,” said Ms O’Grady.
“The team in Mayo have been nothing but supportive over the past three years and we can't wait to work with them for the next three years, growing the business further.
“Getting into the finals has been an amazing opportunity.”
