Five bloggers from Mayo have reached the final stages of the Blog Awards Ireland 2014. Organisers Lorna Sixsmith and Amanda Webb have described the standard of blogs in this year’s shortlist as ‘extremely high’ with the scoring among the finalists as extremely close.

The winners of each of the 32 categories will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Westgrove Hotel in Clane on Saturday October 4.

The Mayo finalists are Don’t Need Make Up to Cover Up in the youth section, Leaving Cert English in the education section, Mayo Club 51, which has been nominated in both the newcomer and sports and recreation section, Moy Fisher in the sports and recreation section, and Vintage Teapot in the Lifestyle section.

The awards ceremony will provide a night of good craic and celebration, as quality writing is rewarded and online friends meet up off-line. Tickets include entry to the event, a three-course meal, entertainment and goody bags.
