Award winning performer and the creator of a number of highly acclaimed one-man shows, Aindrias de Staic, is bringing his popular Man from Moogaga show to Belmullet.
The show recently enjoyed a very successful run at the Galway Fringe Festival, with six sell out performances, and is based on the life and adventures of a young man from a west of Ireland town called Moogaga, whose biggest goal in life is to play Gaelic football for his town.
Mr de Staic is a comedian, actor, and television presenter. He described the origins of the show.
“Everywhere I go, I find I’m talking about the towns, villages, and characters I knew in my youth. So, the show has just developed naturally from these songs and stories,” he explained. “The Man from Moogaga is about the small town Ireland of 1980s, a really crazy place!”
As well as performing at a number of leading festivals, including the Edinburgh and Galway frings festivals, Mr de Staic has enjoyed success nationally and internationally for his television and film work.
He is a presenter of TG4’s An Jig Rig and appeared as a judge on Scór Encore. He has also acted in Ros na Rún, The Clinic, and Neighbours.
Director for The Man from Moogaga is Ray Keane, a founding member of the multi-award winning Barabbas Theatre Company.
The Man from Moogaga comes to Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet, on September 26 at 8pm as part of Féile an Fhómhair.
